The Iconic Puzzle Game Didn't Triumph at This Gaming Ceremony — Another Award Type May Address This Issue

Whenever a prominent prize-giving event approaches, one notices an outcry for the addition of new categories to acknowledge unsung work and satisfy the spirits of followers dedicated to specific genres.

My colleague previously argued advocating for terror-themed awards. That would be fantastic. So would strategy board titles, representing a passionate advocate's mission. However, I must insist when I prioritize just as with other blinkered fanatics, I have a cast-iron argument for why my demand is the most urgent and important of all. Here's the proposal: It's essential to create a classification for brain-teasing titles.

Categorizing Game Types

Organizing artistic expressions isn't exact; it’s very subjective, and it will always generate discussions concluding with vague boundaries. It's understandable that film award organizations steer clear of genre categories. However, it represents an unavoidable compromise in the world of video games, that demonstrate such variety they barely qualify one unified medium.

To recognize the complete range of achievement in video games to gain proper attention, and to ensure all game types to compete fairly, genre categories are essential.

Current Gaming Award Categories

Prominent interactive entertainment events currently feature genre categories for Action, Action/Adventure, Role-Playing, Combat games, Simulation and strategy titles, and Sports/Racing games. Together, these six categories effectively encompass a lot of ground, allowing placement accommodating various experiences.

This doesn't apply to brain-teasing titles. No appropriate category exists for their placement. Examine these examples from outstanding current releases, each quite distinct: the architectural riddles of one title, fast-paced pattern recognition of another game, engaging interpersonal challenges of a third title. Which classification works within current classifications? Unfortunately, nowhere.

Acknowledgment Issues

Many instances occur outstanding logic titles released every year that have no home at major award shows, if they accidentally match award groups including Mobile Game, Virtual reality experiences, and the highly challenging small studio competitions.

  • A renowned logic title got overlooked in any category in 2014
  • Another creative title was excluded during that ceremony
  • A beloved organization game was overlooked recently
  • Just some puzzle games barely qualified for niche award types

Value of Brain-Teasers

Frequently they represent small games, yet the craft of the puzzle game is of massive significance. Iconic mobile puzzle games rank among most popular titles in the world continuing this trend for many years.

The legendary block-stacking game competes with well-known building titles claiming status as highest-selling title ever; it’s also in the running as greatest title ever. Puzzle games are foundational within interactive entertainment, and they are in conversation with diverse game types.

The Solution and Justification

Brain-teasers wouldn't encounter such difficulty. You could fill a field of five with fascinating, diverse, deserving games annually without trouble — actually, with challenge, because you’d have to leave many worthy titles.

To emphasize again, these represent titles that otherwise have no home in important events. Brain-teaser creators operate at the demanding boundary interactive creation, developing some of most fundamental forms of gaming itself. Comparable to cinema stunt performers, they merit acknowledgment. Let’s not keep them waiting generations.
